The Opportunity
We are looking for a licensed, experienced technician who can handle both installation and service work across:
- Burglar alarm systems (Qolsys, DSC, Alarm.com)
- Video surveillance (IP cameras, NVRs, networking)
- Access control systems
- Fire alarm systems

Top performers currently earn $40–45+/hour based on experience and performance.
Responsibilities
- Install, program, and service alarm, CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues independently
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional installations
- Communicate clearly with customers on-site
- Complete jobs on schedule and document work performed
Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
- Valid Connecticut low voltage license (L5, L6, C5, or C6)
- 3+ years of hands-on field experience (installation AND service)
- Strong troubleshooting ability
- Valid driver’s license and clean record

Compensation & Benefits

Our founder, Ted Welte, founded Welte electronics in 1969. The company was founded initially to design and build production test equipment for ITT Corporation, Continental Baking Company, and General Foods. In 1973 Ted Welte co-founded Advanced Electronic Systems Company, one of the first security and fire alarm companies in Southern Fairfield, Connecticut. Before selling Advanced Electronic Systems in 1999, the company installed over 1,500 security, fire, access control and CCTV systems.
Prior to founding Welte Electronic Systems, Ted was a sales and service engineer for various stereo and test measurement manufacturers, including the Grundig Radio Company. Ted Welte holds an L-5 license, and has an engineering degree in electro and communications technology.
Our President, Paul Welte, has designed, installed and serviced projects beginning in 1995. Prior to joining Welte Electronic Systems, Paul spent ten years working in the financial services industry working in various capacities with hedge funds, brokerages, and investment banks. Paul has led projects ranging from voice systems, data networking, and needs analysis.
