This position REQUIRES THE CANDIDATE TO HAVE A VALID CT ELECTRICAL LICENSE: C5,C6, L5, L6. 5. Competitive Pay and benefits: $35-$45.00 starting pay for L6/C6 or higher, plus 50%contribution to a healthcare/dental/vision plan, two weeks of paid vacation/PTO/holidays. Notebook pc, company vehicle, paid training and bonuses.
Responsibilities:
- Install low voltage cabling and cabling assemblies ( i.e. metallic & non-metallic conduit and raceways, etc.)according to national electric code in both residential and commercial settings.
- Install and program new alarm and security/fire alarm systems, cctv, access control, and a/v equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues..
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance and testing of systems..
- Monitor inventory of service parts and keep van stocked properly.
- Perform all duties in a neat and workman like manner.
- Train customers how to use their new systems.
- Adhere to safety regulations.
- Be courteous and respectful and patient with customers, and employees.
- Be to work on time.
Qualifications:
- Have one of the following Connecticut low voltage electrical licenses: C5, C6, L5, L6, E2, E1.
- Proven experience completing from start to finish security/fire alarm, access, CCTV, installation, maintenance, or other related lines of work.
- Proficiency in installing (bending) emt.
- Ability to handle physical workload (lift 50 lbs), climb ladders, work in challenging physical environments
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills. We don't give up on finding the right answer.
- Strong attention to detail. Proper spelling is included in the details.
- Experience pulling cable (efficiently), and drilling holes (not through finished floors though!)
- Experience working with wireless technology (internet WiFi and alarm rf protocols)
- Clean driving record
Compensation: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

Our founder, Ted Welte, founded Welte electronics in 1969. The company was founded initially to design and build production test equipment for ITT Corporation, Continental Baking Company, and General Foods. In 1973 Ted Welte co-founded Advanced Electronic Systems Company, one of the first security and fire alarm companies in Southern Fairfield, Connecticut. Before selling Advanced Electronic Systems in 1999, the company installed over 1,500 security, fire, access control and CCTV systems.
Prior to founding Welte Electronic Systems, Ted was a sales and service engineer for various stereo and test measurement manufacturers, including the Grundig Radio Company. Ted Welte holds an L-5 license, and has an engineering degree in electro and communications technology.
Our President, Paul Welte, has designed, installed and serviced projects beginning in 1995. Prior to joining Welte Electronic Systems, Paul spent ten years working in the financial services industry working in various capacities with hedge funds, brokerages, and investment banks. Paul has led projects ranging from voice systems, data networking, and needs analysis.
